Andina Faragher, Ph.D

Andina Faragher, PhD, Cert IV in Dog Behavioural Training

Developmental and Copy Editor

Andina Faragher has a PhD in molecular biology, and worked for many years as a laboratory scientist and science administrator. However, after living with a fearful German Shepherd, she decided that her true calling was in dog behaviour. She completed a Certificate IV in Dog Behavioural Training (Canine Good Citizen) through the Delta Society of Australia, and is now nearing completion of a Diploma of Advanced Canine Behavioral Sciences through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute.

Andina has worked as a dog behavioural trainer at the RSPCA shelter in Canberra, Australia, where she ran classes in pet dog manners for adopters of shelter dogs and other members of the public, and worked with the dogs in the shelter to assess and improve their prospects for adoption to suitable homes.

Andina now runs her own business (Thinking Dog) as a dog behaviour consultant, while continuing to volunteer at the RSPCA shelter and instruct some group classes there. She also works as a scientific editor and was the copy editor for James O’Heare’s books Aggressive Behavior in Dogs (2007) and The Dog Aggression Workbook (2007).
