The Association of Animal Behavior Professionals (AABP) was founded to promote a strong dedication to non-coercive methods, and exceptionally high standards of excellence in skill proficiency and professionalism among behaviorologically oriented animal behavior technologists. The AABP seeks to establish a verbal community of members aspiring to and sustaining these principles.
AABP Members are strongly dedicated to these three pillar principles (click here for elaboration):
- Dedication to non-coercive methods out of respect for the rights and dignity of all parties
- Dedication to the highly efficient and effective technology of behavior, based on the natural science of behaviorology (as opposed to ethological, psychology or medical-model orientations)
- Standards of excellence in skill proficiency and professionalism
